Sorbus Advisors LLC is a full service Fair Value advisor covering financial reporting needs including all elements of business combinations, private company securities (e.g. 409a valuations), business interests, and complex financial instruments. Having built on the founder’s experience at the bulge-bracket accounting firms, we understand how our valuations fit in the context of the broader financial reporting issues. We practice in multiple industries including technology, biotech, finance, and consumer product. We service clients world-wide from our offices in the San Francisco Bay Area.

      Max is a Principal at Sorbus Advisors LLC with over 15 years of valuation advisory experience. His valuation work is critical for building accurate financial statements, enhancing transparency, and facilitating conversations among strategic partners. Max concentrates on financial reporting, tax compliance and strategic planning valuations of intangible assets, financial instruments, portfolios, and business interests.

      Prior to Sorbus, Max held senior positions with valuations services teams at KPMG and Armanino McKenna. His clients ranged from small private start-ups to multinational public corporations. In additional to his extensive track record in the accounting industry, Max brings years of strategic valuation experience with “In-House” and Wall Street teams of Ligand Pharmaceuticals, Rodman & Renshaw, and Wachovia Securities.

      Max received his MBA in Finance from the University of Southern California, Marshall School of Business. He holds a B.S. and M.S. degrees in Applied Physics and Mathematics from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology. Max is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Charterholder.

      Max was born in Kharkov, Ukraine and landed on Staten Island, New York in 1993. Avid trail runner and inspired surfer, he lives with his wife and two children in the beautiful San Francisco Bay Area.

      Mr. Lee is a Valuation Advisory Analyst with Sorbus Advisors LLC. Mr. Lee is responsible for financial modeling, comprehensive industry and company research as the key elements of each valuation assignment.  He concentrates in valuations of intangible assets, equity and complex financial instruments for clients seeking to comply with IRC 409A, ASC 805, Fair Value financial reporting standards.

      Mr. Lee received her MBA in Finance from the University of California, Haas School of Business and her B.A. degree in Economics and Finance from Baruch Collage, City University of New York, and graduated with Magna Cum Laude Honor.  Passed the second levels of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Program and may be awarded the charter upon completion of the required work experience.

      Brenda is a Senior Client Relations professional experienced in developing, delivering, marketing and selling valuation service solutions. She brings over 10 years of experience in accounting industry with emphasis on providing broad range of services to companies ranging from multinationals to venture backed start-ups.

      Brenda is a Director of Client Relations dedicated to delivering state of the art valuation solutions that best support a company’s strategic planning and regulatory compliance. She strives to provide a top quality experience for the broad base of constituents including venture capitalists, attorneys, accounting professionals and finance executives with whom she partners.

      Prior to Sorbus, Brenda held various positions with FTI Consulting and Arthur Anderson focused primarily on project management and clients relations. She holds M.S. in Communications from San Diego State University and B.S. in Finance and Accounting from the University of California, Los Angeles.
